Connect Claude Code

Claude Code can use your email through Heron too: triage your inbox between two tasks, find a spec email, draft a reply.

In one click from the desktop app

1. Open Settings → AI agents.
2. Under Connect Claude, click Connect to Claude Code. Heron finds the claude command and adds Heron for all your projects (nothing changes if it’s already there).
3. In Claude Code, type /mcp, pick heron and sign in with your Heron account in your browser, then click Allow.

The status then shows in the settings, for example Claude Code: connected. If Claude Code isn’t installed, Heron shows the command to copy and an Install Claude Code link; once installed, click Check again.

On mobile, Copy Claude Code command copies the command to run on your computer.

With a command

In a terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user heron https://api.heronmailapp.com/mcp

--scope user makes Heron available in all your projects; without it, it’s only added to the current project.

Then, in Claude Code, run /mcp, pick heron and follow the sign-in in your browser: same Heron sign-in page and same authorization screen as for claude.ai.

• Install the skills for ready-made routines such as /heron-morning-brief.
• If Claude Code shows a 401 or “unauthorized” error, the connection expired or was revoked: run /mcp again and reconnect.

Good to know: prefer the terminal without MCP? The heron CLI gives access to the same tools, with the same permissions.
